Modern Shows® founding partner Lucy Ryder Richardson is back making telly but this time she is being dropped off in sunny Provence with a gaggle of competitive dealers and she wants you to be the first to snap up a bargain. 

Let loose in two French markets, the race is on to find quality items for a snip, give them a French or Danish polish where needed, style them, photograph and sell them for the right price quicker than you can say “Sacre Bleu”.

You might want to flag in your diary to keep your eyes peeled on the @midcentury_modern and/or @midmodmadam instagram any time between the 27th and 29th September where you can shop as items drop in both posts and story or, if you are feeling kind, do comment on them to ping them back out into the metaverse and keep the ball rolling.

Lucy’s mission will be to find things she thinks design lovers will hanker after, any good midcentury at a decent price, maybe a few older unique ‘talking pieces’, objects with a good sculptural shape, furniture with patina that has a story, perhaps a bit of jewellery and anything we might need in our homes.  

Used to buying items to stage with for developers for The Modern House and Inigo estate agents before selling privately to interior designers and dealers, Lucy will be totally out of her comfort zone and will be haggling for England. Her aim is to prove that you lovely lot are the best buyers on the planet right now by bringing home the prize of top dealer.

4 – You get the item when the team return from France between the 10th to 15th October with no custom fees or French delivery included. Pick up directly from South London or Lucy will calculate signed for postage or professional blanketed and belted antiques delivery from her home in the UK.
