Sunday School

Excuse us for the short post today but we are veritably pooped after yet another successful Midcentury Modern at Dulwich College. We will endeavour to add to it as more and more photos come in. Amongst the crowds super fashion blogger Susie Bubble, design doyenne Orla Kiely and local funny lady Jenny Eclair joined the familiar faces we regularly see poring over our wonderful dealers stock gleaned from the far reaches of the US, Europe and Scandinavia. Our Aladdin’s cave of furniture, homeware and art attracted thousands of people to visit and many to tweet their adulation of their own particular buys. Susie Bubble was so enamoured with this Ercol desk and chair she sent us an image from home set against a backdrop of Missprint wallpaper, another brand  that started off in the early days of Midcentury Modern. Ms Bubble if you ever want to make the leap from fashion to interiors we are rooting for you here at Midmod towers. We love the way your home looks – more pics please. We can hear you shouting Gimme teak! Gimme Rosewood! Gimme Krenit bowls! Gimme Wirkkala! Gimme Wegner! from the pages of your new blog Casa Bubble.

We got this from Pelikan Online. This daring female duo, Penny and Rachel, share a passion for fine looking retro pieces and believe  quality furniture should feel like part of the family. Loved their tweet, “@modernshows the show that keeps on giving, our Helle sofa just sold to lovely folk who saw her on Sunday. Here it is in all its glory.” Find them in The Modern Marketplace

We always like to see people circling like sharks around the stands wondering if they can knock the dealer down before someone else pounces on the object of their affection. We have to admit to being a bit sharkish ourselves.

Interior designers for hotels would wow over Waffle
Interior designers for hotels would be mad to walk past  Irish brand Waffle’s incredible textured cushions and reversible throws upstairs in the contemporary room.
